July Happenings

Okay so I know it has been a long time since I last wrote. But, it has been really busy. The month of July was full of travels. We started our ventures in Conway, AR where we visited our friends Ryan and Lacey Welch. They were nice enough to let us stay there on our way to Amarillo, TX. It is always good to see them and catch up. Even though they only live an hour away we don't get to see them as much as we would like.

We then headed to Amarillo to visit our friends The Knebusch's. While Cody went trout fishing with Levi in New Mexico, Shannon and I kept the 5 kids. That's right we were left with 5 kids. So, to fill our time we went to the park, swimming, registered Shannon for her baby shower(she's about to have her fifth baby) and slept in. Shannon and I would stay up real late and try to solve all of life's problems. Of course, we have everything figured out and if people would just listen to us everything would be better (haha!). Can you believe I didn't take a single picture while Amarillo. I guess we were just too busy.

From Amarillo we headed to Possum Kingdom Lake for Cody's family reunion. We enjoyed visiting with family from all over Texas and Oklahoma. The lake was beautiful and Kenzie even got in for a quick swim. After a fast weekend we traveled home and recovered for a week. It was nice to be in our own bed and not living out of a suitcase anymore but we miss our friends and family and wish we could be on vacation all the time.

I have more to update you on but that will have to be at another time. I will try and get it done before another month rolls around.

Fourth of July and Precious Moments

This year for the fouth we went to Little Rock with our friends, The Sniders, and my brother and his family. We met at Larry's Pizza for dinner. This is probably our favorite pizza place. They have so many different types of pizza and the best crust ever. We then headed to Maumelle to find a good place for the firework show. We arrived with plenty of time before the festivities began so we just hung out, took pictures, and walked around the area. Kenzie loves her cousins!! Avery is always trying to get her smile and play with her. When she actually is big enough to play I know they will have a ball! Conner is just three weeks older then Kenzie but definately has a little more meat to his bones. They like to figure each other out and usually Conner ends us grabbing, pulling, or rolling over Kenzie. She doesn't seem to mind she just sits there and takes it all in. I especially like the picture of all three of them. I can't believe I got them to all grin and look at the camera at the same time!

Well, on Kenzie's first July 4th she fell asleep before they even started. I really wanted to see her reaction to all the lights and sounds but she slept through the whole thing!! I guess I will just have to wait till next year. It was a really good show and each year I am reminded how much I like to watch fireworks!! Hope you enjoyed your holiday weekend!

Kenzie has never really been a cuddly baby so when she decided to get comfortable and fall asleep on Cody's chest it was a special moment! Cody had a big grin on his face all morning!!

6 months old

Okay, so I am posting some pictures of us. Hope you enjoy!

Last Friday Kenzie hit a big milestone...she turned 6 months old. I can't believe it has been 6 months since her big arrival. She has been such a blessing in our lives and we have enjoyed watching her grow so much. I take great pride in all of her milestones and look forward to what else she is going to bless us with. It has been a joy watching her discover new things like how good her big toe tastes, learning how to roll over and then getting mad cuz she can't roll back, eating rice cereal, and giving us big wet kisses. I know this is just the beginning and there will be lots more achievements. Stay tuned as we document them.

This past weekend we went to Dallas to attend Cody's cousin, Kevin's, wedding. We had a great time visiting with family and seeing friends we hadn't seen in awhile. We are now back in the swing of things in good ole' Searcy. Today I was working on my planner and making notes of things I still need to do this month. It just hit me that the summer is almost half over. Can you believe it? I still have so much I want to do before school starts back in August. I guess it kind of just dawned on me today that I better get a groove on or I will have lots of unfinished projects still lingering when school starts back.

Here We Go!!!

Okay..so lots of people have told me that I needed to start a blog. I never thought of myself as a good writer so I just said, "no thanks." Well here I am giving in and finally deciding to take the plunge. Of course, you will have to bear with me as I get into the groove but I hope this is a good way for all of our loved ones to keep in touch. Because, honestly, there is no better way to keep you up to date about our lives. So.....

For those who don't know...we are living in Searcy, AR. I'm working at Harding as the Director of Institutional Testing. More importanly I am the proud mama of McKenize Jo. She became our new addition in December of 2007. We are enjoying every minute with her and are amazed at how fast she is growing!!! And she will probably get lots of air time - sorry, we mamas have to brag!!

Cody is a busy man!!! In July of 2007 he graduated with his Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. He is putting that training to good use at Woods and Associate Counseling Clinic. Clients come and go so in his "spare" time he is working as a nightman at Capstone Treatment Center.

That is a real quick summary Oh, and I will be sure to post some pictures soon.

We would love to keep in touch better with our loved ones. So, if you have a blog let us know so we can add you to our links!!

I'm excited about this endeavor, enjoy!!
